Child Under Door With Child Standing on Door Funny
A mom has praised her neighbors after her sneaky toddler figured out how to unlock the front door and decided to "escape" at 6.30 am.
Alexx Doehr shared a hilarious clip from her CCTV cameras, showing her son waltzing out of their house, in Florida, in the early hours of the morning.
Various cameras captured the tot heading over to their neighbors to ask to play, only for a bleary-eyed woman to open the door, scoop up the boy and take him back home.
But it seems after the 3-year-old had mastered unlocking the door, he tried his luck a few more times, with various adults chaperoning him back inside.
Doehr shared the hilarious clip to her TikTok page, @alexxdoehr, where it's already amassed more than seven million views since Saturday.
@alexxdoehr Super thankful for amazing neighbors today (& always)! Sorry for your Saturday morning wake up call 😬🙈 definitely installing higher locks that the littles can't reach today 🔨🔒

"Super thankful for amazing neighbors today (& always)! Sorry for your Saturday morning wake up call. Definitely installing higher locks that the littles can't reach today," she captioned the footage.
The initial time stamp in the footage shows 6:23 a.m., while the last escape attempt was made at 7:30 a.m.
Fellow parents found the footage hilarious, as Roxane The Greatest wrote: "It takes a village to raise a kid… we just mad cus she has the village we all hear about but don't actually have."
Tim pointed out: "Kids will be kids, Doesn't make you a bad parent, you learned from what happened and the kiddo wasn't hurt at all."
Morgan wrote: "Let me guess, kid was awake and wanted to go play with his friends. It's a simple mistake and you are clearly taking precautions to avoid it!"
Annie Stoddard commented: "Kids learn new thing everyday. At least he went to the Neighbors and she just took him right back home."
Chyrokie Davis said: "Mom of a fellow escape artist. We installed door lock chains and it helped, but he set the alarm off once and is now terrified to do that again.
Becky Byler raved: "The world needs more neighbors like these."
Brookeyboo81 chipped in: "It takes a village!"
Suni McKelvey agreed, saying: "Now this is what a neighbor is suppose to do!!"
Meagan Meranda thought: "This is the funniest and most terrifying video I've ever seen lol what a cute little boy. And his relationship with your neighbor."
Doehr, thought to be a photographer, responded to numerous questions in the comments, confirming her children were safe and it was the first time it had happened.
She wrote: "…Kids are kids. They break rules, sneak out, & escape—even at 3 years old!…Thankfully this was the 1st (& hopefully last) time this has ever happened. & he's 2nd child. My daughter NEVER tried any of this."
Doehr joked her son was "a fearless leader for sure. But sometimes that scares the heck outta this mama!"
While she added: "The door was locked but our lock is very low… Installing 2 new locks today but an alarm system is definitely being discussed as well! Stinkin kids, so smart!"
And she confirmed they were so close to the neighbors they "consider them family," saying: "…We are all very close with our neighbors on our entire street. He went because he knew them and felt safe. Nothing outta norm—except for the hour.
"…We are incredibly thankful for them! Could've ended much differently."
She was also amazed her son shut the door behind him, joking: "Honestly, I'm shocked myself. We're in FL so no telling what critters could've weaseled in."
Some people were worried he managed to escape, as Doehr shared a follow-up clip on Tuesday after the original blew up, captioned: "Escape artist explanation."
She filmed her front door and explained the lock mechanism, showing off the extra security measures added since the escape.
Doehr said she and her husband were "fast asleep" when their son made a break for it, clarifying they can't hear the doorbell in their bedrooms, only in the main living areas.
"He just learned that he can easily turn it [the door handle] and go," she explained while filming their front door, claiming they were also going to add some extra locks.
And, referring to the neighbor, she said "the fact that she just pushed him inside was not a big deal, we were not concerned with that," saying she immediately went to get her phone to text Doehr.
While there was a happy ending for Doehr, that's not always the case. Statistics from the National Crime Information Center's Missing Person and Unidentified Person Files for 2020 revealed as of December 31, 30,396 of 89,637 active missing persons cases involved under-18s.
That represents 34 per cent of total cases, and jumps to 43 per cent—38,869—taking into account those under 21.
The International Center for Missing & Exploited Children said: "We define 'missing child' as 'any person under the age of 18 whose whereabouts are unknown.' However, we also know that children can go missing for a variety of reasons."
